The photos I ordered online as gifts haven't arrived. The Slide Show DVD I created won't work on anything except my Mac. I think this is due to the DVD-R discs I'm using.
I'm so frusterated! I should have just baked biscotti like I had originally planned for my family instead of spending time and money on pictures!!!
Maybe I'll just hand out IOU's to everyone.

Married: At times it seems like forever, other times it seems like only a few days ago.
I am very fortunate to have gotten knocked up by such an attractive and accomplished man.

The month of August has found us on 3 road trips! We're currently in Kalispell, Montana at my aunt and uncle's home. We're having a ball, albeit a crazy ball with 6 other kids and their parents staying here (that number includes Cooper and Iris). They are hosting their annual house party for friends and family. It is going on right now and Cooper is napping hence me having time to be online. He didn't nap yesterday!
I just heard a kid in the hall announce that the Pony rides are going on..."You haven't ridden a pony before?" they asked. Cooper got to ride one last year, so if he naps through pony ride time that's okay:) They have a blow up bouncing castle, water slide and have hired 3 babysitters to keep an eye on all the kids...Oh, noes, I think we just missed a pinata-I heard the kids cheer and squeal with glee. There are probably 50 or more people here right now with a dozen or so kids.
Iris is all napped and fed, and I hope is happily socializing with Casey.
Maybe I should nap too, or get caught up on some online time? Hrm...It's going to be a late night.

|Cooper and Iris
A couple weeks ago, Cooper and Iris visited the doctor for the obligatory check up.
Cooper was 27lbs, 35 inches tall. Although he's in the 30th percentile for his age and size/weight, he's in good health, which I knew:)
Iris was 14lbs. 12oz. and 25 1/2 inches tall. She's in the 97th percentile! The doctor commented on how she loves breastfed babies, because they plump up so much. I was slightly amused and explained that they were both breastfed babies, but they have different metabolisms. She is a new doctor for us since our old one decided to start teaching at the UW. I like her, and hope that she remembers that Cooper is and probably always will be a light weight kid instead of asking me what he eats:)
They are very different kids. Iris is a happy, easy baby during the mornings and day while Cooper is most likely to be cranky. Then, she's usually fussy as she fights going to sleep for the night. Cooper is a night owl like his daddy and is pretty good while I have a cranky girl on my hands. So, it works out. There have only been a handful of times when I've sat on the floor with two wailing kids, unable to make everyone happy. It's getting easier to manage them both, and I look forward to the day when they can play together.
I'll be adding more pictures as time allows. I think I haven't gotten caught up on photos since May.

|Cooper peggo shot
This is a better comparison shot because I'm wearing the same shirt.
|Pregnant with little Miss
Here I am expecting little Miss (we haven't named her yet). Casey's sister took this shot on April 6th. I am 37 weeks and a few days preggo. I feel bigger at this point, but I guess I don't really look it.
Just fun to compare belly shots from the pregnancies.
|Preggo with Cooper
Here's a photo of me about 1 week before I gave birth to Cooper. I was 36 or so weeks along in the pregnancy.

|Cooper's Jam Session
Back in December, I started taking Flip Videos of Cooper. He loves the band Pela
, and randomly jams to their CD we bought at their KEXP show last August. Apparently it was a private session, because once he realized I was filming him, he got really upset.

|Ready and waiting
I realize that all I ever post about is baby or Cooper stuff, but that's what's going on in my life...
The little babe is due any day now. Her actual due date isn't until April 25th, but she's positioned and measuring like she could come at any moment. It feels like a bomb is about to go off and you don't know how much time you have until it does. I can't wait to hold her in my arms. And not have to pee every 1/2 hour!
I wish my mommy would come stay with me for a week to clean and cook and baby me. Funny that I never felt this way before Cooper arrived.
Speaking of parents: there's all this "non-serious" pressure for baby to be born when it's convenient for our parents. Casey's dad is busy this weekend, he requested she's not born then. My mom requested that she some by this weekend, because of work schedules. Casey's mom is busy on Monday, etc...Silly because we all know babies come when they come. But, it doesn't change the fact that I feel all this pressure (in my belly and out).

I'm really uncomfy right now. And tired, but alas I'm up and should be working. The little miss should make her debut in 4-6 weeks! Crazy that the time has flown by so quickly. I'm really starting to get ancy to be done with pregnancy. At the same time I don't want her to come any day soon.
Insomnia is settling in and keeping me up at night.
My cold is almost gone.
I love little baby girl clothes.
My feet are starting to swell and most of my dress shoes won't fit. So, I bought some new ones today to wear to a wedding on Sunday. I love shoe shopping normally, but it sucks when you don't know what size you wear and don't want to spend much on shoes that will only fit for 2 months or less.
Cooper is going to wear his first tux on Sunday!

My eyes burn. My throat hates me. I can't drink enough water. I'm constantly tired. Now you know.
Unfortunately, Cooper and Casey have a cold too. It's not fair! We had the flu last month. During Cooper's pregnancy, I don't believe I got sick once. Whiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine.
At least with this cold, Cooper's just more tired and thirsty. His mood is much better than when he had the flu. This makes it much easier to deal with overall.

Friday evening, Casey and I enjoyed dinner out compliments of the company Casey's been working with as a contractor. I was really impressed by their pre-fix meal offered to the group in their banquet room. I think it was the best of its kind that I have ever eaten. Now, I'd like to try them out as a normal dinner guest.
Also, we ran into jmcphers
and his lovely wife, Kelly, as we were leaving. The last time I saw them, I was about this pregnant with Cooper (29 weeks). It was crazy to realize that I was pregnant not so long ago...it seems like longer than that.

|Prenatal Yoga, stupid people and Juno - the movie.
Okay, so what does yoga, stupid people and the movie, Juno
, have in common? Pregnancy.
Casey and I had a date the other day. We went to the Jewel Box Theater in Belltown to see Juno
. It made me laugh and cry. I laughed more than cried. It was such fun, everyone should go see it.
I started a Prenatal Yoga class today, and must say it was great. I dunno what I was expecting, but I definitely feel better for going. At the end of class, the instructor asked if anyone had any questions, and one lady asked, "Is it okay to have 4 cups of coffee a day?" At first I thought she was kidding. The instructor answered her very well with the correct information. I couldn't believe she was serious. Buy a pregnancy book. Read it. I'm amazed at how little some women get prepared for the process, or parenting. Granted, I think there are many things you can't become prepared to handle through books or classes. Maybe I'm just becoming more impatient with people.

I'm sooo excited for Christmas. I woke up this morning wishing we could open our gifts today. But alas, another day and night...
This is the first Christmas where I'm not scrambling to gather gifts and feeling terrible about not having enough money to get everything I want for everyone on my list. I think I started shopping early enough to avoid the hectic last minute shopping, and I've become realistic about the gifts I can get people. Its difficult because in my family, all of my extended family (including aunts, uncles, cousins, second cousins, and a family adopted into mine - not really related-exchange gifts). In Casey's family, only his immediate family exchange gifts. So, its been a learning experience for us to realize how to spend money on gifts. I've gotten more crafty this year, and am excited about those home-made gifts.
Cooper is hopefully old enough to enjoy getting new things. Last year, he didn't really get it. He was more interested in the wrapping paper and ribbon than gifts. We didn't go overboard with him, only purchasing a few gifts that we know he'll like, or needs...that was hard, because there are so many cool toys to buy.
I tried to shop locally this year, but with feet that tire quickly and a toddler, I did a portion of my shopping online. Granted, with one purchase, I chose a retailer from East-Seattle rather than Utah-so it was more "local":)

She was sitting with her legs crossed like in a yoga pose. Her head was up, so she was breach at the time of the ultrasound, but we're not too concerned as she has many weeks to turn around.
She's now 21 weeks along, and according to babycenter.com, she's 10.5 inches long. I can hardly believe we're past the half way mark for her arrival. Time is flying by me. Weee!

Halloween was fairly tame for us. We have started having dinner with Casey's siblings on Wednesday evenings...so that's what we did on Halloween.
Costume fun happened Saturday when we attended our friends' house party. After much debate, we went as: Mario (casey), Princess Peach (me), and Toad (cooper). I had originally planned on wearing a blond wig, but Cooper freaked out once I had it on...so, I went with my natural hair:)
Photo compliments of punkjr
Cooper did surprisingly well at the party. There was plenty of entertainment and decorations to keep him in utter awe. It was really fun to see people and dress up.

|Cooper: Video games and Skateboarding
At 15 months and several days, Cooper has expressed great interest in video games. He loves them! Since Thursday, he's been addicted to watching his dad play. He'll hold out a controller and grunt, basically requesting that Casey play. I tried turning on the game cube and playing Super Mario Sunshine (which was the game in the player, and I have no previous experience playing, ever), but Cooper got upset with me, perhaps because I couldn't really do anything but run around? He only likes it if Casey plays:)
This has turned into an excellent way for Casey to entertain Cooper for at least 30 minutes. After that time, Cooper has to get up and run around getting into things as per his normal routine. But, if Casey turns off the game he's playing, Cooper gets upset and repeats his play plea, and again is entertained for several minutes. Very funny, and interesting. I wonder if he'll be a video game genius or simply an addicted kid who gets to learn that no, really means no.
Cooper also really loves skate boards. Its almost scary. Since Casey got a long-board in August, Cooper is obsessed with standing on it or pushing it, or sitting on it at any available opportunity. On Friday, we went to Gatewood school's playground so that Casey could ride around, and Cooper could run after him to burn some energy. Cooper insisted on riding on the board, by himself! Casey would hold him up and run alongside.
Five boys between the ages of 6-13 showed up on their skate boards and ended up checking Casey out, surrounding him, asking questions. Cooper and I happened to be at the playset when this happened, but as soon as Cooper spotting all the boys around dad, he rushed over to join them, making a "look at me, wait up!" series of babbles. Once we got to Casey, Cooper stood there with one foot on the long-board and listened to the chatter. One kid asked Casey if he had a real board:p

is where you can mooch books from strangers, but you have to give some to get some - and adhere to their point system to do so. I'm going to try this out sometime soon.
